Frank Skinner

this light hearted painting was conceived after reading his 2008 book, Frank Skinner On The Road, in which he shared his experiences of going back on the road doing stand-up again after many years in television.

 

Frank Skinner takes a great interest in 16/17th C. art and particularily that of Diego Rodriguez de Silva y Velazquez 1599-1660. This painting was based on the work of the Franzs Hals 1623 painting, Bafoon with a Lute. There is a change of costume to that of West Bromwitch Albions 2016 home kit. WBA being Franks other life-time love.  He recently learned to play the banjo. allegedly very badly.
